Dentures

Dr Brian, Dr Alice and Dr Claire share a unique passion for restoring smiles and helping patients enjoy all the benefits of a full and functioning set of teeth. Two options for achieving these ends are removable partial dentures and full dentures offered right here in our Whitsundays dental clinic.

Dentures are a time-tested and, for some patients, a practical solution to tooth loss, and we rely on the latest innovations and materials to provide our patients with modern dentures that fit comfortably and function and are durable.

At Whitsunday Family Dental, we believe everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of.

Modern Dentures for a Full Smile

Full dentures replace a full arch of missing teeth for the upper or lower jaws – or both. And they rely on the natural ridges of your jaw for support, the muscles of the face for stability and in the case of upper dentures, suction.

Partial dentures replace teeth when some natural teeth remain. The remaining teeth anchor the partial denture in place.

We make sure your dentures and partials are coloured and designed to complement your face and bone structure. We also provide meticulous adjustments, so your prosthetic fits and functions comfortably, as it should.

The Denture Process

Tooth replacement always starts with a consultation in our modern and friendly dental clinic. It is here that our knowledgeable team welcomes you, and our dentists assess your oral health, the integrity of remaining teeth (if applicable) and overall oral anatomy to make sure that dentures are a practical solution for you.

Impressions of your mouth are taken and from this, your denture is custom made over a series of appointments. The colour and shape of denture teeth are also chosen to suit your face shape, skin tones and your desires.

In some cases, pretreatments may be necessary. If your remaining teeth are not healthy enough to support a partial denture, for example, your dentist may recommend extractions so that you can be fitted with a full denture.

Other recommendations may include dental implants to support your denture and help to ‘anchor’ it in when movement is a problem.

At Whitsunday Family Dental, our dentists understand the impact that tooth loss can have on your life and your diet, which is why we are passionate about replacing missing teeth in a way that makes sense for your lifestyle.
